Vacation and the Holy Week

I have some exciting news! Living Proofed is on a family vacation. We decided we would take our kids to the nation’s capital this year over spring break, so we have been busily preparing for that and are very excited to make the California to east coast trip. I will post more updates on Instagram during the vacation, but I also plan to do a little wrap up here as well.

Despite the vacation and prep, giveaways have still been happening though! Two weeks ago we did a hamburger buns giveaway (more of a share!) to a friend of our daughters and last week I cooked up a new loaf I am still wanting to tweak a tiny bit, but still came out fantastic. I can’t wait to share the recipe with you! Hang on for Caccio e Pepe bread coming soon. You won’t want to miss that.

This week of vacation I am not sure what sort of giveaway I will be able to manage since we are gone for 9 days (yay/oh my word!) in total. That being said, I may outsource the baking and see if I can stumble across a bakery to do a giveaway with too.

Spending the Holy Week traveling probably wouldn’t be my first choice, as I like a fair amount of contemplation this week. After all it is the Passion week. This week witnessed Jesus’s triumphal entry into the city with palm branches, to be followed by the last supper, Jesus instituting communion, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, the trial, the choice of the crowd, the death, and ultimately, the victory. It’s a big week! But spring break schedule is what it is.

I hope wherever you are, you enjoy your Holy Week and appreciate the Easter to come!

Ps. This was my first on the fly post–posted from the back of an Uber! Mistakes and misspellings are all part of the vacation fun!
